Technology now helps parents to feel more confident and better understand their children’s development. Storypark’s new partnership with the Australian Government funded parenting website raisingchildren.net.au delivers trusted information and insights about children’s development into the hands of more parents in Australia.
Storypark is used by more than a third of all ECE services in Australia. Their team of global advisors and experts on child development helps ensure their software creates positive behavioural changes for children across the country.
raisingchildren.net.au offers evidence-based content on hundreds of topics about raising children and child development for parents, making the newly formed partnership a natural alliance between our two organisations.
Storypark has been working with raisingchildren.net.au over the last year to integrate up-to-date articles, videos and other information from the site into its mobile app that is used by parents of young children all over Australia. The information that shows up within the Storypark for Families app covers children’s development from birth to 5 years old, and is tailored according to the age of their child or children.
Storypark CEO, Peter Dixon, commented “Giving parents new ways to access information that can help grow their understanding of their child’s development is an exciting first step in our partnership with raisingchildren.net.au towards our purpose of helping every child fulfil their unique potential by connecting and empowering the community around them.”
“It compliments our work helping the community around a child better understand their unique interests and support the best possible early learning journey through the Storypark app.”
Raising Children Network Board Director Associate Professor Julie Green said the partnership was a great result for parents and families.
“We are delighted to be able to share our many evidence-based resources in a new forum – especially one that is so well used and valued by families with young children in early childhood settings.
raisingchildren.net.au helps families grow and thrive together by placing useable information at the fingertips of busy parents and carers. We think this collaborative approach to connecting families to trusted information benefits children, families and communities.”
How do parents access the information?
Storypark is the leading provider of digital portfolio software used by Early Learning Centres in Australia so will be familiar to many families already. If a child currently has a Storypark profile, and their parents are using the Storypark for Families app, then they will automatically have access to the information from raisingchildren.net.au when it is progressively rolled out over the next month.
How can you tell if you have the Storypark for Families app?
If the app you use to access Storypark on your phone is purple, then you’re already using this app.
If the app you use is the blue Storypark app, then you’ll need to download the Storypark for Families purple app if you want to access the raisingchildren.net.au information.
Parents whose children don’t already have a Storypark profile can download the app and create a profile for their children for free and continue this for the lifetime of their child. As well as getting access to this great information from raisingchildren.net.au, the Storypark for Families app is a great way for families to record and share special moments in their child’s lives with extended family in a safe and secure way.
About Storypark
Storypark is a purpose-led organisation founded in 2011, striving to help every child fulfil their unique potential by connecting and empowering the community around them. Storypark’s secure, online communities supports children’s learning and helps bridge the communication gap between a child’s home, their early learning service and their wider family. It was developed to enhance the practice of educators through helping parents, educators and family members work together to help the modern-day village overcome time constraints and geographic boundaries to more effectively raise children. Although it’s primarily used by early learning services to document learning and strengthen family engagement, the Storypark for Families app can be used for free by families as a standalone tool to help them create a record of their child’s development that they will cherish forever.
From the outset, Storypark has partnered with a number of organisations including the Early Learning Association of Australia, Early Childhood New Zealand, NZ Kindergartens, the Canadian Child Care Federation, a host of the largest ECE providers across Australasia (KU Children’s Services, Guardian Early Learning, ECMS, Affinity Education, Goodstart Early Learning and The Auckland Kindergarten Association) and brought on board some of the world’s leading experts as advisors. This group has guided the way we shape and design Storypark ever since.
